James Dean (born 02/08/31 in Marion,IN) began his movie career in 1951 with the film Fixed Bayonets although this was just a small role which was followed up by another small role in the comedySailor Beware and 1952's Has Anybody Seen My Gal? Dean was also in various Television dramas and also appeared on Broadway inSee The Jaguar andThe Immoralist. His three major movie credits are East Of Eden Rebel Without A Cause and Giant. Sadly on September 30, 1955 this amazing actor was killed in an auto accident. |
| Natalie Wood was born on July 20, 1938 in San Francisco, California with the birth name of Natasha Nikolaevna Gurdin. When she was just four years old, Natalie appeared in her first film called Happy Lane which was released in 1943. In 1947's Miracle On 34th Street,, Natalie won movie patrons hearts as Susan Walker. When she was 17, Natalie appeared in a film which would send her into adulthood. The film was 1955'sRebel Without A Cause She appeared in Splendor In Th Grass, West Side Story (both in 1961), Gypsy (1962), and Love With A Proper Stranger (1963). After the movie,This Property Is Condemned in 1966, Natalie stayed away from filming for three years. On November 29, 1981, Natalie was sailing on the yacht she shared with her husband, Robert Wagner, and their friend Christopher Walken, when Natalie drowned while trying to board the dinghy tied up alongside the yacht. Sal Mineo was born Salvatore Mineo Jr on 01/10/1939. Just 15 years old when got the part of Plato, and already the vetran of two Broadway shows The Rose Tattoo & The King and I. He also had been in two films Six Bridges To Cross (1955) & The Private War Of Major Benson(1955). His other movie credits include a small part in GiantCrime In The Streets (1956) Somebody Up There Likes Me Which ironically would have been James Dean's next feature film role,Tonka (1958), Cheynne Autumn(1964) & Escape From Planet Of The Apes. Sal also embarked on a short lived recording career that spawned a few minor hits Start Movin & Lasting Love. On the evening of Feb 12, 1976, Sal Mineo, just 37 years old, was stabbed to death in the garage of his West Hollywood apartment. |
| Born 02/25/1913, will probably be most remembered as Thurston Howell III on the TV series Gilligan's Island (1964-67) and as the voice of Mr.Magoo. His other television credits include I Married Joan (1952-55)& Blondie(1968-69). Some of his other films are Pat and Mike(1952), Man Of A Thousand Faces (1957),Ice Palace (1960) & Pete's Dragon (1977). Ann Doran was born on 07/28/1911 in Amarillo, TX. She has appeared in many films including Penitentiary (1938),Blondie (1938), The Snake Pit (1948), Rosie (1967), The First Monday in October (1981) & Wildcats (1986). She has also co-starred in the tv programs National Velvet (1960-62) & Longstreet (1971-72). Sadly, Ann passed away on September 19th 2000 due to complications from a stroke. |

Nicholas Ray was born Raymond Kienzle on 08/07/1911 in Galesville, Wisconsin. In 1945 he served as Elia Kazan's assitant director on the acclaimed film A Tree Grows In Brooklyn Two years later he made his own successful debut as a director with They Live By Night. His other credits include Knock on Any Door (1949), In A Lonely Place (1950), The True Story Of Jesse James(1957) & Dreams Of Thirteen (1976). He also appeared in the 1972 film The American Friend which co-starred Dennis Hopper. Ray died of cancer on June 16, 1979 leaving behind a crowded shelf of unfinshed films. |
